"Come out of her my people" - Jesus Christ

Mark 12:28-34  And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all? And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he:  And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.  And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question.

To love the ONE TRUE God with all your heart, with all your soul, and all your mind is the fulfilling of all the Law and all the ceremonies friends. To Love God fully is to be close to the Kingdom of God. To love and trust God completely is truly Christian perfection. To love God with your whole being is to overcome all sin. Now what do we mean by this? Are we saying that we must turn from all sin before we can love God? Lets look at John 14.

If ye love me, keep my commandments. John 14:15

Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. John 14:23

As we look at what Jesus is saying, we see he is showing the cause and effect of LOVE. ;If you love me, you will keep my commandments. IF a man love me, he will keep my words.
It is the LOVE of God that constrains us, it is the love of God that empowers us to be over comers, it is the love of God that gives us the victory over sin.

1John 2:5   But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

What are the results of having the perfect love of God? You will keep His Word

1John 5:3   For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

With out the love of God, without the love FOR GOD, you can do nothing; and our love for God is directly proportionate to the amount of love we perceive that God has for us. You see if we believe God loves us very little, then in turn we will love God very little; BUT if we perceive that the love of God is great for us, then we will love God greatly.

1John 4:19  We love him, because he first loved us.

The bible my friends, through out its pages tells us of the love of God, it emphasizes the fact that GOD is a loving, caring Father.

If you dont realize nothing us from reading the bible, please understand that God loves you.

1John 4:16   And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee. Jeremiah 31:3

Paul in Romans 8:39  tells that NO creature;shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord;

Satan knows that if a person understands this great truth about God, and accepts it into their lives, and are born again through His love, that he will have NO control over them.

1John 5:18   We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.

1John 3:9   Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

Thus satan has fought from the beginning of time as we know it, to cloud the truth of Gods love. We can turn to Garden of Eden, to his conversation with Eve and realize his tactics.

Genesis 3:1-5   Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?  And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:  But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

Just look at the accusations of satan toward God. First after causing Eve to repeat the words of God, he declares God a liar. Ye shall not surely die. Seeds of doubt now creep into the mind Eve. How do I know God is not lying to me; passes through her mind.

For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods;. With this satan accuses God of not having Eves best interest at heart, of withholding good things from her. And with these doubts of Gods truthfulness, and of His Love Eve reached and took of the forbidden fruit, and you know the rest of the story. No doubt these were the same tactics used by satan to cause the fall of one third of the heavenly Angels. He had to place doubts in their minds of Gods love and his truthfulness.

How was God going to be vindicated of the false charges of satan? Was there some word he could say to truly prove His love? What are your words worth to those who think you are a liar? He had already given all creatures life and sustained them, yet they continued to rebel and follow satan. God needed to demonstrate his love for fallen man, in such a way that it could never be questioned again. God needed to be justified.

Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. James 2:19-24

In a previous sermon we looked at the above verses, we learned that justified; doesnt always mean Forgiven and declared innocent but rather it often means Shown to be true. Abraham was not forgiven by offering Isaac, but rather he was shown to TRULY Fear God.

Genesis 22:2 And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.  And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him. Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off. And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you. And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together. And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering? And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together. And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.  And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.  And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I. And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.  And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.

It was the willingness of Abraham to offer up his son that justified him before the on looking worlds. And it would be the same act that would justify the Great I AM. As Abrahams only Son carried the wood upon his back up that lonely hill, it would be Gods only Son that would one day carry a wooden cross on his back up Calvarys hill. But instead of Gods Son being substituted with a ram with its head stuck in the thicket, Gods Son would wear the crown of thorns upon his brow and become the Lamb of God. Unlike Abraham who had three days to set and consider, to contemplate the death of his Son. God had thousands of years to think upon the death of His first born Son; the Son that he had begotten before all creation. Who was foreordained from the foundation of the world to die for the sins of the ungrateful. It is by this great gift, that we can know for assuredly that GOD loves us.

In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 1John 4:9-10

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

Turn with me now to the book of Mark, I want us to gaze upon the offering of the Son of God. Many reflect upon the beating, the whipping, the torture that the Son endured at the hands of the Romans. But that is just the tip of the anguish that crushed his precious soul. Before he ever was arrested, the weight of our sins was bearing down on him. The separation that sin causes was slowly removing the presence of His Father.

Mark 14:32-34   And they came to a place which was named Gethsemane: and he saith to his disciples, Sit ye here, while I shall pray.  And he taketh with him Peter and James and John, and began to be sore amazed, and to be very heavy; And saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death: tarry ye here, and watch.

Jesus began to be sore amazed; which means to be stricken with terror, not only was he stricken with terror, but he became very heavy or in other words overwhelmed by loathsome emotions. The guilt and horror of our sins was being poured out upon the Son of God, and it began to crush the life out of him.

My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death.

Mark 14:35-37   And he went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him. And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me*: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt. And he cometh, and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter, Simon, sleepest thou? couldest not thou watch one hour?

*The Apostle Luke Adds 22:44   And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

The Son of God bowed to the ground, in a state of terror and agony, crying Daddy, Father please take this cup from me, I dont want to be separated from you. He cried these things three times as his sweat became blood. (Doctors have confirmed that people do indeed sweat blood, when their capillaries burst due to extreme stress or terror. This usually only occurs where the person thinks he is going to die). Then when he turns to his three most trusted friends, looking for comfort he found them asleep.

Reproach hath broken my heart; and I am full of heaviness: and I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none. Psalms 69:20

It was from this scene to the dismal trial, and the beating and the spitting and scourging. To the rugged tree where he spread his arms and became a curse for you and me. Our sins were the thorns in Christ's head, the nails in his hands and feet, the spear in his side. He was delivered to death for our offences.

Isaiah 53:3-6   He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Our iniquities were laid up on the spotless Lamb of God friends, he suffered in our stead. And what does sin cause?

But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. Isaiah 59:2

And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? Matthew 27:46

The Son of God was forsaken by His Father, so we would not be forsaken. He died a sinners death without any hope of tomorrow, so that we could have hope. He was bruised beyond recognition so that we could be healed.  His Soul was made the offering for sin, so that our souls could be saved.

Isaiah 53:10   Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.

This is the love of God! Thus is the love of God justified.
John 3:16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

That is how much God loves you, He loves you enough that he gave his only begotten Son. He could of offered an universe for you, but what would that be to God? He can speak a million in existence with one word. He could of gave an angel for you, but again what love would that had shown? God so loved you friend, he gave his only born Son. A son that was born before there were fountains of waters, before the mountains was settled. A Son who came forth from the very being of God Himself. (Proverbs 8:22-36) One equal in divinity, grace and honor; the only being in the universe that could enter into the councils of God (Zechariah 6:13).  The Son who rejoiced before the Father, and in whom the Father delighted. God gave HIS greatest possession for us. Oh What Love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called the Sons of God. He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things Romans 8:32

Acts 16:30-31  And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

Here was a man who wanted to know how to be saved. Now did Paul pull out a book and tell him he would have to learn 27 fundamental beliefs? Did Paul say, You will have to believe that I am an prophet? Did he give him 7 steps to follow???? No, he told him simply believe upon the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.

What must we believe about Jesus? John says we must believe that he is, who GOD said he was, his Son. (1st John 5:5).

Then you must believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins. (1st Corinthians 15:3).

You must believe that God raised Jesus from the Dead. (Romans 10:9)

And you must believe that Jesus Christ is Lord (Romans 10:9).

If you believe this, then you can be saved. Turn with me to Romans 10:9

Romans 10:9-11  That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

What did Paul say to do? Believe with your whole heart, and confess Jesus as your Lord with your mouth; if you believe with your whole heart, then your confession of him as your Lord will be sincere.

Is this simple my friends? Now did Paul tell the jailor that he had to stop smoking his cigarettes before he came to Christ? Did he tell him he had to learn to keep the Sabbath? Did he tell him that he would have to stop drinking? No! You come to GOD just as you are; I dont care what condition you are in, I dont care if you are the worse sinner on the planet, if you will believe upon Jesus Christ and confess him as Lord you will be saved. Once your saved, God will begin to clean you up. He will set you free from the power of sin; but this type of sanctification does not begin until you are justified. Right now Jesus loves you just the way you are, and he wants you to accept him into your heart.

Luke 7:34-35   The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!  But wisdom is justified of all her children.

Jesus spent so much time with the lost, the Pharisees called him a Friend to publicans and sinners, and thankfully this part of their testimony was true. Jesus is the greatest friend the sinner never knew he had. Paul said, While I was yet a sinner, Christ died for me;.

Do you know anyone who would be willing to die in your place right now?

If you read the gospel you will see that Jesus had a great burden for the sinner man. Yes he spent some time debating and witnessing to the Pharisees but the vast majority of his precious time on this earth he was sharing the good news with those who needed it most. He said he came not to call the righteous, but the sinner to repentance.

My friends let us not neglect the sinner by spending too much time reaching out to the Pharisee.  Christs church is an evangelizing church, which shares the gospel with the world. My brothers and sisters we need to pray that GOD will give us a burden for the lost souls.

Turn with me to Luke chapter 13:5

Luke 13:5  I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

What was Jesus preaching? He was preaching a gospel of CHOICE. He told people that they were on the road to destruction; and then he showed them another way.

He told them that GOD loved mankind so much that he had made a way of salvation, and that way of salvation was through the gift of his only begotten Son. Jesus said he was the door, he was the only way, and no man comes to GOD accept through him. He said except a man be born again he could not see the kingdom of GOD (John 3:1-17). He said repent and be baptized, or be damned (Mark 16:16).

He taught that there was a heaven to gain and a hell to shun, and he laid the decision squarely in each persons lap, and he said choose you this day.
And then he pleads, choose life, please choose life; (Deuteronomy 30:19). Why will you die?

Turn with me to the book of Mark.
Mark 8:36   For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

When I was a younger, I had several people witness to me about Jesus, and I knew that I was a lost sinner, but there were things in my life that I loved, which I knew a Christian could not practice, so I chose these things of the world, over eternal life. What were they? I will name one of them, I loved Rock/Roll, I loved the band AC/DC, I had all their albums, Id been to their concerts, I grew my hair like their lead guitar player; and I was willing to reject the gospel, so I could hold on to their music.

Is that foolish? Indeed it is. But there are people who are turning their back on eternal life for a lot less than that. But I will tell you this much, when these friends told me about Jesus, they shared a watered down gospel with me, a gospel that didnt convict me, that didnt move me. But one day, a Baptist brother gave me a bible, and eventually I sat down and read the book of Matthew. And I realized for the first time, that GOD loved me; that Jesus loved me. I realized that what he went through on this earth, and what he suffered at the hands of those people, and the agony he felt upon that cross, was all for me.

Until that moment I could never understand how people would say, I love Jesus;. How could they love someone they never met? But when I seen him through the words of the gospel writer, and I realized this person loved me, and his Father loved me,, I fell in love with them. And I became so sorry for my sins. And I prayed that night, and asked the Lord to save me from hell. And you know what the bible promised would happen if I called upon him?  See ROMANS 10:13

Romans 10:13  For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

The Lord is truthful to his promises friend. When I called upon him to save me, he saved me. My sins were forgiven, my record of sins were blotted out, and I was clothed in the righteousness of Jesus Christ. When GOD looked upon me he didnt see a life filled with two decades of sin, but he saw the precious, spotless life of Jesus Christ.

Not only did he save me from my record of sin, but he saved me from the power of sin. Satan had a hold in life in so many ways before I came to Jesus Christ, but when I prayed that sinners prayer his chains were broken. His addictions were broken, his power over me ended that day.

Isnt that the promise Jesus gives to all who come to him?

John 8:31-32  Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

It was on that day, in 1998  that I came into the truth and the truth came into me; and Im not talking about a set of bible doctrines my friend, but I am talking about the person, Jesus Christ. For he is the truth, the way and the life.

I didnt know about the Sabbath, but I knew the one who made the Sabbath.

I didnt know the truth about death, but I knew the one who had power over the grave.

I didnt understand the prophecies of Daniel and Revelation, but I knew the one who saw the ending from the beginning.

I hadnt read all the bible, but I knew the Author of the bible.

I had never heard of the atonement;, but I experienced the atonement that day. All the sin that had come between me and my maker were washed away by the blood of the Lamb, and I had peace in my heart. And the God of the universe and his precious Son came to live in my heart, and they promised to lead me into all necessary truth.

And they gave me a desire to know all of his truth, and to separate from error.
And I tell you friends, I wouldnt trade my relationship with them for all this world. If you dont know Jesus, you dont know what you are missing. Want you come and taste, and see that the Lord is good. It'll just take a sincere prayer of faith, and you can be set free. Want you pray?"
