"Come out of her My people" -Jesus Christ

THE TRUTH ABOUT GOD

My friends there are many wild theories in the world today about God and his Son and their relationship. Some tell us that Jesus was a mere man, that had the Spirit of GOD abiding in him. Some tell us that Jesus was a created angel that was sent to earth to become a man. Some tell us that GOD the Father came to earth, and pretended to be his own Son. Or that GOD the Father has a friend, who took the "ROLE" of a Son. Other teach that Jesus Christ is an 'extension' of the Father. When I hear these 'theories', I hear the voice of Satan, asking "Did God say he gave his Son? Nay God did not give his Son". Satan doesn't want you to believe that Jesus Christ is truly the Son of GOD. He doesn't care if you believe he is a created angel or human, or friend of GOD, as long as you deny that he is the eternal Son of GOD. He doesn't want you to believe that the Father is really the Father, and that the Son is really the Son. I think the following study, coupled with the studies on the pre-existence of Christ and his divinity will help people better grasp the truth about the Godhead. So I pray that you will take a moment and read all three of these studies and see if the truth isn't a great blessing to you.

“The Only True God and Jesus who HE sent”

Who is the Supreme of the universe? The Bible declares that God the Father is the Supreme Ruler of the universe; even his Son, Jesus Christ, is subordinate to him

Though Jesus is equal with the Father in Divinity and substance, he remains subject to His Father, ever trusting His Father.

WHO IS THE ONE TRUE GOD?

1Co 8:6  But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

Paul declares that Jesus is not the one that is known as the one true God, but he is the one true Lord. This Truth is repeated in many places.

Eph 4:5-6   One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

1Ti 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

1st Thessalonians 1:9-10   For they themselves declare concerning us what manner of entry we had to you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God,  and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.

Even Jesus makes a clear distinction between himself and the only true God.

“And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the ONLY TRUE GOD, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent” John 17:3.

The Bible teaches that CHRIST is the Divine Son of God, it does not teach that he is the same person as his Father and GOD. In fact the bible clearly declares that Jesus has a God. A God whom Jesus worshiped.

John 4:22 Ye worship ye know not what: WE know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.

Eph 1:17   That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:

Eph 1:3  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

2Co 11:31   The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is blessed for evermore, knoweth that I lie not.

Col 1:3  We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,

John 20:17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

Revelation 3:12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.

Jesus taught that his Father is the YHWH of the Old Testament whom the Jews called their God.

John 8:54 Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God:

When the Apostles prayed to YHWH the Creator, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, they declared that Jesus was his Child.

Acts 4:24-27  And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is:  Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things? The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord (YHWH - Psalms 2:2), and against his Christ. For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together,

[NOTE: We are certain that it is Christ in the Old Testament who appeared to men and spoke in the name of YHWH; for no man has seen YHWH, but the SON has declared him, and represents him to man, for his is the Image and Word of the True God. God has put his name and authority in his Son. We have other studies explaining this relationship]

Some have said that 1st John 5:20 is declaring Jesus the 'true God', but with a careful reading we can see that it is not.

1 John 5:20 And we know that the Son of God is come. And he hath given us understanding that we may know the true God and may be in his true Son. This is the true God and life eternal. (Douay)

John was simply paraphrasing Jesus, when he explained that eternal life is to KNOW the One true GOD (the Father) and Jesus who was sent by him (John 17:3). The bible teaches that the one true God of the bible, has a Son. To deny this is to expound the doctrine of anti-christ (1st John 2:22).

WHY THE FATHER IS THE "TRUE" GOD

Now what does the bible mean when it declares the Father is the TRUE GOD? Does this mean the Son is false? By no means. The term TRUE in the bible can be used to distinguish an original item from an exact copy (See the Online Greek Lexicon). For instance if I had some gold and I formed some of it into a coin, and I liked it so much that I wanted another, I could form a molding and use a stamp to make an exact duplicate of this coin out of the same quality of gold. I would then have two gold coins, a like in every way, but only one would be the original (true), the other would be the image, though both are equally coins and are of the same substance. When referring to the distinction between the Father and Son, the term 'TRUE" simply shows that the Father is the original, the unbegotten. While the Son is the image of the Father, begotten from his bossom. The Son is called the image of God (Hebrews 1:3, Colossians 1:15, 2nd Corinthians 4:4). And to a certain extent all sons are 'images' of their father.

Genesis 5:3
And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth:

We could look at this verse and say biblically Adam is the true man, and Seth is his image. Yet both are equally human and are of the same substance.

THE SUBORDINATION OF THE SON

  “(There is)
One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all and in you all” Ephesians 4:6.

1Co 11:3   But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

“My Father is greater than I” John 14:28.

CHRIST WILL BE ETERNALLY IN SUBJECTION TO THE FATHER, WHO HAS PUT EVERY THING ELSE UNDER HIS FEET.

1Co 15:27-28  For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.    And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.

“All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth” Matthew 28:18.

And who gave Christ this power? “As thou (Father) hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him” John 17:2.

But as we see even Christ’s life has been given to him, along with the fullness of the Godhead.

“For as the Father hath life in himself;
so hath He GIVEN to the Son to have life in himself” John 5:26.

John 6:57 As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.

Jesus now possesses the fullness of the Godhead bodily (Colossians 2:9); but where did it originate? “For it pleased the Father that in him should all fullness dwell” (Colossians 1:19).

The bible teaches that the Father is the source of all things. As with earthly parents, GOD is the source of Christ's being. He is truly begotten from him. Christ is subordinate to his Father as any loyal child is subordinate to their earthly father.
