Babylon Forsaken

"Come out of her My people" - Jesus Christ

Who is behind the deception? Revelation 12:9  And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Are people who profess to be Christians safe from the deception? Matthew 24:4-5  And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.  For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

What does “Saying I am Christ” refer to?

Matthew 24:24  For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Matthew 24:11  And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

The MOST deceptive false prophets are those who come in sheep clothing. They agree that Jesus is Christ, they have a profession of “Christianity”, but inwardly they are wolves, and they work to deceive many.

Where did Paul say these wolves would be?
Acts 20:29-31  For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.  Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.

How do these wolves appear? 2nd Corinthians 11:13-15 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

How do they speak? Romans 16:18  For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

18  For such people are not servants of the Lord Christ, but of their stomachs; and by their smooth and well-said words the hearts of those who have no knowledge of evil are tricked. [BBE]

Here is the reason that the deceptions are so prominent in these last days. These false ministers use smooth and fancy talk to deceive those who do not have discernment.

Where does discernment come from? Hebrews 5:13-14 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.  But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Today few ‘Church Members’ are given to the indepth study of God’s word, in fact, most despise Bible teachings.

Did the Apostle predict this would be the case in the last days?  2nd Timothy 4:2-4 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

You see, Paul predicted that in the last days, the Church world would be craving the preachers who speak smooth things, for they cannot endure the sound doctrine of God’s word.

What did Jesus say would be the prominent fruit of those false preachers?
Matthew 7:15-20  ¶ Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.  Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?  Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.  A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.  Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

We shall know them by their fruit, a wicked tree will bring forth wicked fruit.
Now we have seen that these ministers will appear righteous, they will appear to be messengers of righteousness. They usually make good neighbors, men will generally speak well of them, they will be called “Good guys” [Luke 6:26]. The way they are to be tried is not by appearance, but by their messages, by their doctrines.

When a statement is repeated over and over again in the Bible, it is to draw our attention to it, and to cause us to take heed. There is one deception in that is warned against over and over again in the Bible, yet men do no take heed to it, probably because they have already been deceived by it. One of the most wide spread false doctrines in the Church world today, is that men can live ungodly and still inherit the Kingdom of God.
2nd Timothy 3:12-13  Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.  But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

I would certainly consider this as a hint to the last days. Men who live Godly in Christ Jesus shall certainly suffer persecution. But persecution is not a welcomed thing to men. So seducers and deceivers will offer a form of Christianity, that is not truly Godly, and thus will not bring persecution, and this false form of religion will be received by the masses.

What deception did Paul warn the Corinthians against?

1st Corinthians 6:9 ¶ Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived:

What did he warn the Ephesians against?
Ephesians 5:5-7  For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.  Be not ye therefore partakers with them.

What did he warn the Hebrews: Hebrews 12:14  Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

Many strong delusions are in the world today friend, but be not deceived. The UNRIGHTEOUS shall not inherit the Kingdom of God.

Who is righteous?  1 John 3:7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

Be not deceived, the unrighteous are those who do unrighteousness, the righteous are those who do righteousness.

Who is unrighteous?  1st John 3:10  In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother

What is unrighteousness? 1 John 5:17
All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.

What defines sin? 1st John 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

Are God's Commandments Righteous?
Psalms 119:142-144 Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is the truth. Trouble and anguish have taken hold on me: yet thy commandments are my delights. The righteousness of thy testimonies is everlasting: give me understanding, and I shall live.

Romans 7:12 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good. [Also see Isaiah 51:7]

Clearly the Law of GOD, his holy Commandments define sin. They tell us what is righteous, and what is unrighteous.

Ministers of unrighteousness will often teach us that salvation is simply putting on a “Cloak” of Christ’s righteousness. Now if Christ simply gives us a cloak for our sins, and lets us continue in our sins, then he is a partaker of sin. But praise God that Christ offers full salvation.

When we are saved, we become a new creature, what is the new creation created in?
Ephesians 4:24
And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Because we are created in true righteousness, what type of instruments are we to be on this earth?
Romans 6:13
Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

Did Christ die so we could be law-breakers, or so that we could live a life that fulfills the righteous requirements of the law? Romans 8:4
That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

What are we commanded to do as Christians?
1 Corinthians 15:34
Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

Who are righteous before God?
Luke 1:6 And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.

Who will be justified and be in the Kingdom of GOD?
Revelation 22:14
Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
Romans 2:13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

The bible is very clear that only the Righteous shall be in the Kingdom of God, that no one who practices wilful sin will be saved. Yet men take some of the writings of Paul and twist them, and thus deceive many by teaching the error of lawlessness [2nd Peter 3:15-17]. But let no one deceive you the unrighteous will not be in the Kingdom.

Now many people will quickly reply: “My righteousness is as filthy rags”. And so it is
And others will say, “I cannot keep the righteous requirements of that law”. And you certainly can’t. This is the plain teaching of Scriptures:

Romans 8:6-8  For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.  Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.  So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

If men could naturally live righteously, and obediently to the law of God, then Christ would not had to die. But it is clear that men cannot do such, because the carnal mind is enemy against God. Why? Because it will not be subject to the law of God.

And those who attempt to be obedient and righteous in the human strength are only offering God filthy rags. For no matter how hard you work, or how hard you try, you will always come short of the glory of God.

The Bible teaches that the Carnal man is dead. He is dead in his sins and his trespasses. He has no power over sin, but sin has dominion over him. All of his desires to live ‘good’ are useless and vain, and every victory that he thinks that he wins, is merely temporary.

The Carnal Christian is no different. Though he makes a profession of faith, and attends services, his testimony is: “I try but I fail”. And he thinks that his solution to his problem is: “I must try harder”, and the harder he tries the further he falls, for his carnality dooms him to failure. For no flesh can glory in the sight of God. The Carnal mind cannot receive the things of GOD, nor can it please God.

Paul explains the life of a carnal religious person the following way:
Romans 7:18-20
For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.  For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

Paul describes the same carnality to the Galatians: Galatians 5:17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

What does the flesh profit? John 6:63  It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

Why is our Church in the condition that it is in? We know that we must do better, that we are not doing the work that needs to be done. And we have a ‘desire’ to do these good things, but we fail to do them. Why? Here is your answer... It is carnality. We are yet in the flesh.

What is the difference between life and death? James 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

The human body without the Spirit is dead. The Church is a ‘body’ and if it has not the Spirit it is dead.

How shall we obtain the victory? 1 John 5:4
For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

Faith is the victory, it is faith by which we receive the victory. It is by faith that this Church will come alive, and be what it can be in Christ Jesus.

What must we receive by faith, so we can have a living victory?
Galatians 3:2
This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? [see also Galatians 3:5, 3:14].

Be certain of this, you will not be filled with the Spirit by your works, you will only be filled with the Spirit by faith.

First you must believe that it is necessary to be filled with the Spirit.

Secondly, you must believe that Christ will cleanse you of all unrighteousness if you confess your sins.

Thirdly, you must believe that God will fill you, if you ask him.

Fourthly, you by faith, must ask GOD, and seek the filling of the Spirit. You must knock, and you must ask, until you receive what you desire.

Galatians 5:16  This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

When you are filled with the Spirit, and walk in the Spirit, you will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh. When you are under the influence of the Holy Spirit, and the Divine nature has sway over your person, your desires will change!

For instance, the fleshly nature may cause you to want to sit and waste your time in front of the television, but it will not be so if you are filled with the Spirit. You will not have to ‘fight’ through the TV desire, for the Spirit’s desire is not upon television but on heavenly and useful things. The Holy Spirit imparts a different nature, that has pure and holy desires.

Romans 8:10-14  ¶ And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.  Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.  For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

How are the sinful and worldly deeds of the flesh to be put to death? By the Spirit of GOD.

How are the righteous requirements of the law to be fulfilled by us?
Romans 8:3-4
For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

How shall we be sanctified? 1 Corinthians 6:11  And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

How shall we love God and our neighbor as we should? Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

How are our witnesses empowered to win souls?
Luke 24:49
And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

How shall we gain boldness? Acts 4:31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.

How are we to be strong Christians? Ephesians 3:16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;

How shall our Church be unified? Ephesians 4:3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

How is the Church to be edified? 1 Corinthians 12:7
But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

How shall we have the liberty of worship? 2 Corinthians 3:17
Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

What is the only way we can the true peace and joy of salvation? Romans 15:13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. [also see Romans 14:17].

The key to victory, the key to being all we can be in Christ Jesus, is to give Christ all of our hearts, and to let him fill us with his Spirit.
